Ricks College/BYU-ID Intramural reunion

A few weekends ago, I was able to go back to Rexburg, ID and attend the first ever Intramural/Rec. Sports reunion. It was so good to see some of my Intramural buddies, even though I was hoping more would be there. The best part was seeing Coach Schiess again (he's the one in the middle in the bottom picture). He is such an amazing man and I learned a lot from him during my years at Ricks College. For those who attended Ricks College (before it became BYU-Idaho) and haven't been back since, you need to visit again. Campus has changed so much and there are so many new buildings, playing fields, etc. It's going to be a beautiful campus once all of the building projects are finished. I was so glad I was able to go to this reunion. If any of you ever worked with Intramurals or Rec Sports, we'll have a reunion every 5 years...so come next time!! :0)

Squirrels

So, I have to tell you about the squirrels here in American Falls. They aren't like anything I've ever seen...or should I say heard. During the first week here a big windstorm passed through and we realized that we needed to trim the big willow tree in the front yard because the branches kept hitting our bedroom window. Brian got out the wood cutters (or whatever they're called) and cut down several branches closest to the house. The next morning at about 6 o'clock we heard the strangest sound. Brian and I looked at each other with questioning looks. He got out of bed and looked out the window. And what did he see?!? A squirrel sitting on the "stump" that was left from the trimming. He looked Brian in the eye and then down on the ground where the branches were and back again several times...all the while chewing him out. I'm serious, this little squirrel was furious that Brian cut down his branches and he was speaking his mind. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen and heard for a very long time. And this hasn't been the only "incident" with these "Mighty squirrels of A.F." There is an apricot tree in our neighbor's yard and this is a favorite feeding ground for them. They pick the apricot from the tree, chew through the fruit to get to the pit, eat the pit and then throw the rest of the apricot into MY yard. They could just let them drop in the neighbor's yard since that is where the tree is, but no. Seriously, these squirrels have attitude. If you don't believe me, come visit sometime and I'll show you. It's crazy!! :0)

We went up to Meek's Cabin in Wyoming the last time we were there. Dad Nebeker took Kandra, Brandon, Kolby and his family, and the kids and me there while my mom was at Girls Camp. We had a blast fishing and roasting hot dogs.

Paige was so funny eating her hot dog. She said she wanted a bun but she just ate the hot dog right down the middle while the bun flared out to the sides. You can kind of see it in the picture. She's such a funny eater. Austin did great also. He loves the great outdoors, just like his big sister!

Paige and Challis had so much fun playing together. Paige definitely looks up to her cousin!!

Here's the whole gang fishing. We were completely skunked this fishing trip. Preston had a couple bites, but there was too much slack and the fish swam away with the worm. Oh well. It was still great spending time together. I love Kandra's profile in this picture! :0) She has almost 4 weeks left and then we'll have another cousin to add to this picture!!

Uncle Brandon was a very good sport showing Paige how to fish. Paige LOVED reeling the line back in as fast as she could! :0)

On the way to Meek's Cabin, we stopped by a little monument that shows where Fort Supply was in the late 1800's. One of our ancestors was sent there by Brigham Young to organize it, John Nebeker, I believe. It's pretty neat seeing how families are connected from generation to generation!!

We went down to Salt Lake a couple weekends ago for Baby Jane's blessing (our niece on Brian's side of the family). It was so good to see so many Adair family members!!

Here's Jane and Austin. Jane is such a good little baby. We love having another cousin to love and play with!!

Austin is such a happy little boy!! He has started to roll over now. The instant I lay him down, he's on his tummy. He still needs to work on rolling from tummy to back because he doesn't like being on his tummy too long at a time, and I'm tired of having to roll him back over just to have him roll BACK to his tummy!! :0)

We stopped by my parents' house in Ft. Bridger, WY on the move out for a day. It was so fun! We were able to get Austin and his cousin, Kelsie, together for the first time. Who do you think is older? Take a guess. If you said Austin, you're wrong! :0) Kelsie is a week older and quite a bit smaller as you can see. I guess it's just the difference between the Adair and Nebeker genes! :0)

Hello, "Heed"!!! Austin definitely has the "Adair Head". :0)

Can you tell Austin is a little bit of a spitter?!? We tried so hard to get these two to look at the camera while they were standing, but I guess they were fascinated by seeing everything from this angle! :0)

A few pics from Nauvoo, IL

We made it to Nauvoo our first night on the road. We did a session in the Nauvoo temple the next morning while my mom watched the kids. (Thank you, Mom!!!) It was so beautiful! Paige had a lot of fun walking around with Grandma!! After going to the temple, we had lunch at Emma's Pantry, which served "heavenly" sandwiches. They were sooooo yummy! The next time any of you are in Nauvoo you HAVE to eat there. It's just across the street from the parking for the temple, inside of the Inn at Nauvoo.

OK, this isn't Nauvoo, but it's still in Illinois! Stuart, IL to be exact. We stopped here for a dinner break and Paige loved chasing all of the lightning bugs! They were everywhere and Paige couldn't get enough of them. This is the closest any of us will get to them in a very long time, I'm afraid. :0(

Graduation

Here's Brian's graduating class. The Ohio State University College of Optometry's Class of 2007. (Try saying that 10 times!) :0)

Congratulations, Brian! He graduated Magna Cum Laude. He worked so hard throughout his schooling and we're all very proud of him. Now he's "Dr. Brian P. Adair". :0)

Here we are, the Adair family. Paige was so tired during and after the ceremony (as you can tell from the picture). It was a very nice ceremony... not too long and the speakers did a very good job.

We loved having so many family members at Brian's graduation. Brian's dad and mom and my mom and sister came out. We loved having their help with packing everything up and moving all the way to Idaho.

We Made It!!!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we're alive and well. We pulled into American Falls, Idaho on Saturday, June 16th at about 1 p.m. It was a long trip but the kids were troopers the entire way. We are renting a house right now and, boy, do we have some stories about this house already! (Here's a hint....plumbing, plumbing, plumbing.) We're just glad it's a rental and we don't have to worry about the cost of it all. :0)

We are loving being so close to family again. We've already been able to go to Wyoming, Utah and Eastern Idaho to see lots of aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. It doesn't look like it's going to slow down a whole lot either. We have 2 reunions coming up, Brian's brother is coming home from his mission, babies are almost due, etc. It's definitely crazy, but fun!

I'll post lots of pictures every time I get a chance. Sorry...I'm probably going to have to work backwards just to make sure I get you all caught up on everything! :0) Just be patient with me! :0)

My Little Pony Live - The World's Biggest Tea Party

We were given free tickets to the My Little Pony show at the Nationwide Arena here in Columbus. Paige was so excited to go!! She didn't know much about My Little Pony before we went (except for the My Little Pony panties she picked out when she was being potty trained), but now she knows quite a few of their names...Rainbow Dash, Wisteria, Pinkie, Minty, etc. :0)

Brian made sure he took the picture because he didn't want proof that he really went to this show! :0) This really made for a fun family date, though!

It was pretty clever how they performed this show. Paige was fascinated by it all. It was fun seeing all the little girls in the audience all dressed up and holding their My Little Pony toys. I'm really glad we were able to take advantage of this opportunity before we moved!

Latest trip to the Bunny Fountains

We went to the Bunny fountains again last Monday. It was so much fun, like always. Paige loved playing in the water until the wind really started to blow and she got a little cold. Austin did well while we were there, also. He just chilled in his stroller for most of the time we were there! Thank goodness! :0)

Water Fountain Fun!!

Just thought I'd post a few pictures of our latest "fun spot" here in Ohio. Up in Dublin, about 15-20 minutes from our house, they have what we call the "Bunny Fountains". As you can see in the 4th picture, there are 3 gigantic bunny sculptures dancing on top of the hill. Down below they have water fountains and waterfalls that the kids can play in. It is so fun! Paige has been wanting to go swimming, but none of the outdoor swimming pools are open yet (later this month they'll be open, though). This allows her to get her new swimsuit on and get wet. She LOVES it as you can see from the pictures. She also LOVES her new swimsuit from Old Navy. We put it on for the first time and she looked at me and said, "I LOVE my swimsuit, Mommy. It's a ballerina dress." The things they can come up with to say! :0) The last 2 pictures are with Paige's buddy, Sammy. His mom and I are taking as many pictures as we can of them together because they are such good friends and they probably won't remember each other once we move away. We're very sad to be leaving such good friends and fun places to play!

Time Out for Women in Pittsburgh, PA

A group of over 30 of us went to Time Out for Women this last weekend in Pittsburgh. It was such a fun trip. The speakers were wonderful and Kenneth Cope was there to sing to us. The best part was just being together with so many friends and sisters! We went to IKEA and there are so many cool things there. I loved their toddler beds, kid toys, kitchen items, home decorations, etc. I think I liked almost everything I saw there. :0) I held back and didn't buy anything yet because I'm going to wait and get it at the new Salt Lake City store when we're back there. I didn't think it was a good idea to have to move it all in a month! :0)
I am so glad, though, that I was able to go on this trip. It was my last trip with all of my friends together before we move next month. :0( I will miss all of the special friends I have made here in Ohio the past 4 years, that's for sure!!

Zoo trip

On our way to the zoo, Paige kept telling me that she wanted to see the gorillas. I'm pretty sure I heard her say, "Mommy, I want to see borillas at the zoo!" over and over almost the entire 20-25 minute drive! (That's how she says "gorilla" by the way.) :0) So, we went and saw the gorillas. She loved seeing the real gorillas, but she had a lot of fun sitting on the statues also... especially the one in the last 2 pictures. She was very sad to leave them. She had to give them kisses and tell them goodbye when we left! It was pretty funny. After we saw the gorillas, we spent about 20 minutes watching the bonobos. For those who don't know what they are, they are in the ape family and they are the closest genetically to humans. They're pretty amazing and a lot of fun to watch. Paige just sat on the railing and watched everything they did. It's funny because she calls bonobos, bonobos and gorillas, gorillas. They aren't all "monkeys" like most 2 year olds would call them! ;0) We have a funny girl on our hands!

Photogenic Paige

Paige was outside playing in the dirt in our flower beds (with no flowers, sadly!) and I decided to take a few pictures since it's been so long. She was cheesing it up, as you can see! She's a happy girl, most of the time anyway. She definitely has her "terrible two" moments, that's for sure. She is a good big sister and loves to give Austin hugs and kisses. Her favorite chores are to wipe Austin's bottom during diaper changes and help give him baths. She gets so mad if she misses out on any of it! :0)

I love this picture. She looks like the sweet girl I know is in there somewhere. :0) I do get glimpses of that sweet girl every once in a while! :0)

I took this picture right before she threw the handful of dirt she's holding onto. She's in the middle of saying "dirt" if you're wondering why her mouth looks the way it does. :0)

And now he's awake!

Here's our happy boy! He can be pretty stingy with his smiles sometimes, but not this time! :0) It's hard to believe that he's going to be 2 months old next week!! Time is flying by too quickly!

Easter Sunday

Here are Paige and Austin in their Easter clothes. Paige refused to have her picture taken without Austin, so you can't see all of her dress. Sorry...you try reasoning with a 2-year-old!!! :0) It was a really cute dress, though! Austin's outfit was given to him at my baby shower. I absolutely LOVE the pin-striped pants!! We ended up having a good Easter Sunday beacause Daddy flew in that evening after being gone almost a week. We sure missed him!!

First zoo trip of the season!

Paige, Austin, and I went to the zoo for the first time this season a couple weeks ago (yes...it's taken me this long to post the pictures!) We had so much fun. We met some friends there and they all LOVED the gorillas! We spent the majority of our time in the African Forest with the gorillas, bonobos, gibbons, etc. So fun!!

Paige and her friend, Kate, are pretty fascinated by this gorilla. That's because it is enjoying it's meal for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time. The kids had a very educational time with the gorillas. They saw them picking their noses (and eating it, too), eating their own vomit, and performing other bodily functions. It was quite interesting to say the least!! :0)
