We set up the tree after the BYU/Utah game on Saturday. We wanted Paige to help put the ornaments on the tree, so we taught her how to put the hooks on the ornaments, find the perfect "spot" for it, and place it on the branch. She did so well and as you can see in the first picture, she was quite proud of herself. She especially liked the ornament we got for her last year which has her picture in it (it's the blue square right in the middle of the tree.) All was well in the Adair household until Paige decided that she wanted to take a couple ornaments off the tree and move them to a different spot. As she did this, the tree tipped over and crashed down to the floor. It didn't hit Paige, but we did have a few casualties. One of my favorite snowman ornaments was broken into bits and a few gold balls. I was very surprised more damaged wasn't done. I think Paige has learned her lesson, at least for now, because every time she gets close to the tree to look at the lights and the ornaments we ask her what happens if we play with the tree and she says in her sweet, angelic voice..."tree fall down".
