My Little Pony Live - The World's Biggest Tea Party

We were given free tickets to the My Little Pony show at the Nationwide Arena here in Columbus. Paige was so excited to go!! She didn't know much about My Little Pony before we went (except for the My Little Pony panties she picked out when she was being potty trained), but now she knows quite a few of their names...Rainbow Dash, Wisteria, Pinkie, Minty, etc. :0)

Brian made sure he took the picture because he didn't want proof that he really went to this show! :0) This really made for a fun family date, though!

It was pretty clever how they performed this show. Paige was fascinated by it all. It was fun seeing all the little girls in the audience all dressed up and holding their My Little Pony toys. I'm really glad we were able to take advantage of this opportunity before we moved!

Latest trip to the Bunny Fountains

We went to the Bunny fountains again last Monday. It was so much fun, like always. Paige loved playing in the water until the wind really started to blow and she got a little cold. Austin did well while we were there, also. He just chilled in his stroller for most of the time we were there! Thank goodness! :0)

Water Fountain Fun!!

Just thought I'd post a few pictures of our latest "fun spot" here in Ohio. Up in Dublin, about 15-20 minutes from our house, they have what we call the "Bunny Fountains". As you can see in the 4th picture, there are 3 gigantic bunny sculptures dancing on top of the hill. Down below they have water fountains and waterfalls that the kids can play in. It is so fun! Paige has been wanting to go swimming, but none of the outdoor swimming pools are open yet (later this month they'll be open, though). This allows her to get her new swimsuit on and get wet. She LOVES it as you can see from the pictures. She also LOVES her new swimsuit from Old Navy. We put it on for the first time and she looked at me and said, "I LOVE my swimsuit, Mommy. It's a ballerina dress." The things they can come up with to say! :0) The last 2 pictures are with Paige's buddy, Sammy. His mom and I are taking as many pictures as we can of them together because they are such good friends and they probably won't remember each other once we move away. We're very sad to be leaving such good friends and fun places to play!

Time Out for Women in Pittsburgh, PA

A group of over 30 of us went to Time Out for Women this last weekend in Pittsburgh. It was such a fun trip. The speakers were wonderful and Kenneth Cope was there to sing to us. The best part was just being together with so many friends and sisters! We went to IKEA and there are so many cool things there. I loved their toddler beds, kid toys, kitchen items, home decorations, etc. I think I liked almost everything I saw there. :0) I held back and didn't buy anything yet because I'm going to wait and get it at the new Salt Lake City store when we're back there. I didn't think it was a good idea to have to move it all in a month! :0)
I am so glad, though, that I was able to go on this trip. It was my last trip with all of my friends together before we move next month. :0( I will miss all of the special friends I have made here in Ohio the past 4 years, that's for sure!!

Zoo trip

On our way to the zoo, Paige kept telling me that she wanted to see the gorillas. I'm pretty sure I heard her say, "Mommy, I want to see borillas at the zoo!" over and over almost the entire 20-25 minute drive! (That's how she says "gorilla" by the way.) :0) So, we went and saw the gorillas. She loved seeing the real gorillas, but she had a lot of fun sitting on the statues also... especially the one in the last 2 pictures. She was very sad to leave them. She had to give them kisses and tell them goodbye when we left! It was pretty funny. After we saw the gorillas, we spent about 20 minutes watching the bonobos. For those who don't know what they are, they are in the ape family and they are the closest genetically to humans. They're pretty amazing and a lot of fun to watch. Paige just sat on the railing and watched everything they did. It's funny because she calls bonobos, bonobos and gorillas, gorillas. They aren't all "monkeys" like most 2 year olds would call them! ;0) We have a funny girl on our hands!

Photogenic Paige

Paige was outside playing in the dirt in our flower beds (with no flowers, sadly!) and I decided to take a few pictures since it's been so long. She was cheesing it up, as you can see! She's a happy girl, most of the time anyway. She definitely has her "terrible two" moments, that's for sure. She is a good big sister and loves to give Austin hugs and kisses. Her favorite chores are to wipe Austin's bottom during diaper changes and help give him baths. She gets so mad if she misses out on any of it! :0)

I love this picture. She looks like the sweet girl I know is in there somewhere. :0) I do get glimpses of that sweet girl every once in a while! :0)

I took this picture right before she threw the handful of dirt she's holding onto. She's in the middle of saying "dirt" if you're wondering why her mouth looks the way it does. :0)

And now he's awake!

Here's our happy boy! He can be pretty stingy with his smiles sometimes, but not this time! :0) It's hard to believe that he's going to be 2 months old next week!! Time is flying by too quickly!

Our little bug

Austin is such a sweet little boy...as you can clearly see in these pictures!!

Easter Sunday

Here are Paige and Austin in their Easter clothes. Paige refused to have her picture taken without Austin, so you can't see all of her dress. Sorry...you try reasoning with a 2-year-old!!! :0) It was a really cute dress, though! Austin's outfit was given to him at my baby shower. I absolutely LOVE the pin-striped pants!! We ended up having a good Easter Sunday beacause Daddy flew in that evening after being gone almost a week. We sure missed him!!

First zoo trip of the season!

Paige, Austin, and I went to the zoo for the first time this season a couple weeks ago (yes...it's taken me this long to post the pictures!) We had so much fun. We met some friends there and they all LOVED the gorillas! We spent the majority of our time in the African Forest with the gorillas, bonobos, gibbons, etc. So fun!!

Paige and her friend, Kate, are pretty fascinated by this gorilla. That's because it is enjoying it's meal for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time. The kids had a very educational time with the gorillas. They saw them picking their noses (and eating it, too), eating their own vomit, and performing other bodily functions. It was quite interesting to say the least!! :0)

Austin's Blessing Day

We blessed Austin on Sunday the 25th. Brian gave a beautiful blessing. Paige loved showing her brother off at church also! :0) We are so blessed to have such a wonderful little family! We are so blessed to have a knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives!

Austin Brian is finally here!

Little Austin Brian Adair was born on March 8th at 4:48 AM. He was 7 lbs. 15 oz. and 20 3/4 in. long. We are so happy he is here and he has been such a good baby. He is a strong little boy already. Brian can't get over how active he is. I just tell him, now imagine him doing all those things inside of me...that's why I would say "Ow!" whenever he kicked!! :0)

I love this picture!! :0) Paige is always asking to hold him. She'll hold him and give him kisses. She's learning how to be soft with him. She loves to help Mommy, though, with the diapers and trying to calm him down when he's fussy (which isn't very often so far!). I love the facial expression on Austin's face. He's not sure what to think of his big sister in this picture. He does like the sound of her voice, though, because if she's nearby and he hears her, he'll calm right down and look at her if she's close enough to him. It's so sweet!

Taking it easy!

This picture was taken yesterday (Sunday the 4th). Paige got sick with a stomach bug on Wednesday. She was still having some issues so Daddy stayed home with her while I went to Sacrament meeting. As I was getting ready for church, Paige found my knee-highs and had to put them on. Of course it had to be over her socks and PJs also! Maybe a new fashion trend?!? ;0) Just as I was leaving to go to church, Brian took a few pictures of Paige lounging in her "spot" on the couch. (It's been her spot since she's been sick.) :0) I love her belly hanging out in this picture!

Monster's, Inc. Daddy/Daughter date

Paige and Brian had a daddy/daughter date the beginning of February. They went together and saw Disney on Ice/Monster's, Inc. The day before, Paige caught a really bad cold, but she was so excited to go that we couldn't keep her home. She loved it! Brian said that she sat on his lap most of the time and was fascinated by the characters "dancing" on the ice. She came home with a little Mike Wazowski figure and didn't put it down for about a week. I'm so glad Paige and Daddy were able to do something with just the 2 of them!!

Daddy's 29th Birthday Party!!

We had a lot of fun celebrating Daddy's birthday. Paige helped me decorate the cake. She kept telling me to add more stars, circles and dots on it so it was very beautiful...at least to Paige! ;0) She picked out the frosting, which happened to be pink. Sorry, Daddy! ;0)

Paige spent a day painting the little frame she got for Daddy. She loved choosing the colors and doing the painting all by herself. I got an old pillowcase and cut holes for her head and arms and that was her painting smock. It worked out really well! After she was done painting it, she wanted to give it to her daddy right away, but I had to keep telling her that she had to wait until Saturday. After that, she kept saying, "Daddy birfday on Saturday!" It was pretty cute!

Paige was REALLY excited to give Daddy this present because she knew that she could share in it's goodness! Chocolate....yummy!!

Baby shower

For my baby shower we went to Ruby Tuesday as a group of friends and had a great time. We were really glad that it was close to all of our homes because we had a snowstorm that night. We were the only ones at the restaurant so that was fun! I had to post 2 pictures so you can see everyone that was there. I was sad afterwards, though, because I realized that we didn't get a picture of me standing so you could see my belly. Sorry to those who haven't been able to see my belly grow in person. :0)

Snow!!!!!

I saw some snow boots on clearance at Old Navy and had to get them. Once Paige saw them, there was no turning back. We had to get her snowsuit (which is 4T, by the way), hat, gloves and coat, put them on and go outside. As you can see, Paige was VERY excited!! :0)

When Brian got home from work, Paige wanted to pile everything back on and go outside with Daddy. They spent a good 10-15 minutes walking back and forth on the little hill behind our condo. Daddy was a very good sport! ;0)

One of Paige's favorite things to do with the snow was, of course, to throw it at Mommy. She was really good, though, about only throwing it at my legs and no higher. Hopefully she'll remember that rule in years to come! :0) I loved seeing how much fun she had in the little snow that we had. As you can see, it's not much and it's pretty crusty...but to a 2-year-old, who cares!!

I love this picture of Paige. You can barely tell, but she's making snow angels. Brian had so much fun teaching her how to do it. Paige made several by the time they came into the house. I have a very cute video of it, but for some reason, I can't upload it onto the site. :0( I guess the picture will just have to do for now!

Brian's Basketball injury

A few Saturdays ago, Brian went to play basketball with a bunch of his Optometry school buddies. This is a normal occurance and everything is usually fine and dandy. When he leaves to go play, Paige and I usually tell him to have fun and don't get hurt. Well....we forgot to say that and guess what happened. The first play down the court, Brian landed on someone's foot and rolled his ankle. This picture was taken a couple days after the incident. He iced it most of the day on Saturday, but not at all on Sunday and this is how it looked on Monday!

Brian finally gave in (after many hints from me) and soaked his ankle in an ice bath on Monday night after work. He did not enjoy it one bit, but Paige, on the other hand... As you can see, she is a typical "monkey see, monkey do" toddler. :0)

Potty-training

Paige was so excited when she opened up her potty. She had to sit on it and read all of her books that she got for Christmas.

The day after Christmas we started potty training Paige and by that night she had peed in it once . The next day she went poop in it, but she had to show that she has some Gifford blood in her and read a book while she was doing her duty!

For the week of potty-training, this is how Paige was dressed when we were at home. She had to have her "My Little Pony" or "Pink training" panties on without any pants and sometimes a shirt. In this picture, she decided to add her scarf to the ensemble! (I crocheted this scarf and Santa gave it to her for her for Christmas.)

New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve we all went over to the Hardy's house again. We put the kids to bed and we played games, ate very yummy snacks and watched the ball drop at midnight. It was so much fun. Krissy and Ray were the most amazing people and said that we could keep Paige there with them overnight while Brian and I went home and could sleep in a little. It was wonderful! This is a picture of the kids after their New Year's Eve sleepover. Aren't they so cute in their PJs?!?

Merry Christmas (a little late)

As you can see, opening presents took it all out of Paige (actually all three of us). She was going strong for the first 1 1/2 hours and then she crashed before she could help open the rest of Baby Brother's presents. After a short rest, though, in her potty box she was ready for some more!!

We had a great Christmas Eve dinner and Nativity play at our friends', Ray and Krissy's, house. We took the picture with the timer and didn't realize until later that half of Jeff was missing. Oops! :0) I love this picture, though, because it shows all 3 of our families together during our first and last Christmas together. We sure love how close we have become with the Hardy's and Heninger's. They have truly become our family here in Ohio!

Here are the 6 kids performing the Nativity Story. Halle, in the peach pillowcase, was Mary; Jack, holding his headpiece, was Joseph; Kate, in the green shirt, was the wiseman (wiseman-woman as she called it); Kasen, with the white headpiece, was the angel; Brandt, the one running away from the scene, was...you know, we're not sure was he was; and Paige, was the shepherd as you can see from her "animals". We didn't have any sheep so she used a pig, cat and bear, instead. It was short, but very sweet!!

I was digging through some boxes before Christmas and found our 2 santa hats. Paige wanted to wear the big one, of course, and decided that her baby had to have one on also. She thought it was the coolest thing, and so did I! (Or at least the cutest thing!!) :0)
